We will separate the walkers and the runners for timing purposes. If you think you will walk the entire course, please select the walk option for the distance you would like to do. If you are either going to run the entire course, or run some and walk some, please select the run option for the distance you would like to do.


Event categories:


The following age group categories will be used for the event;

  • 0 - 12 years - (Kids 3km Adventure Run and Walk only)
  • Under 20 - (5km and 10km options)
  • 20- 39 years
  • 40- 49 years
  • 50 - 59 years
  • 60 years+

Event start times:


Walk 10 km - participant briefing 8.50am, start time 9.00am

Run 10 km - participant briefing 9.05am, start time 9.15am

Walk 5 km - participant briefing 9.20am, start time 9.30am

Run 5 km - participant briefing 9.35am, start time 9.45am

Kids 3km - participant briefing 10.20am, start time 10.30am

Course Safety:


Event Rules

This event may be postponed or cancelled in extreme weather conditions at the Event Managers discretion. If this occurs there will be no refunds, but you will have the option to receive a credit for the following year's Hobsonville Runway Challenge or transfer to another total sport event within 12 months (excluding the DUAL, Tussock Traverse, T42 and The Legend).

All entrants must stay on the course and pass all marshals. Tail-end marshals will follow the last competitor and ensure everyone is off the mountain safely.

The tracks are open to the public so please respect their space.

Qualified ambulance and safety support will be available both out on the course and at the event base.

Entrants must help other entrants in trouble and notify the next available course marshal.


Supporters:


If your child(ren) would like to enter the 3km Kids Adventure run you may run with them for support but please do not participate on the obstacles. This is to keep the flow of people moving at each obstacle and for the safety of the children. The course is very accessible to parents/ carers who would like to take photos and cheer the participants on from different locations around the course. Please be considerate to the people doing the event and do not obstruct the path if you are a supporter.

Registration:


Please note this is a change from previous information:

Registration will open at 7.45am on Sat 26 May - Event registration and race pack collection will be available on site at the event base 18 De Havilland Rd (turn right off Buckley Ave before Catalina Cafe), Hobsonville Point. Late registrations made on the day can be paid for with cash, cheque made to total sport or credit card.


Competitors Briefing:


There will be compulsory event briefings which all participants need to be at 10 minutes prior to your event start time.

Prize giving:


After you've completed your event, grab a coffee from the coffee cart, lay down your blanket and enjoy watching everyone crossing the finish line. For those of you who chose to stay till prize giving we will make it worth your time with a great prize and also an award to someone in an outstanding costume who caught our eye.
