3km Kids Adventure Fun Run

Enter an adult into the 5km or 10km run or walk and you will receive a promo code in your confirmation email. Then make a separate registration for the child entering the 3km using the promo code.

The 3km Kids Adventure course will start near the event base by Catalina Cafe, rise up onto the old airstrip were they will tackle their first obstacle trough the tunnels obstacle then the hay bale pyramid and then the potato sack hussle. From there they will carry on to the cargo net crawl and then down to Boundary Rd.

On the water side of Boundary Rd they will follow the bush trails and make their way back to the road before heading around Bomb Point. Along the path around the point they will take the tyre chicane. After completing these challenges particpants will rise up onto Boundary Road once again and then drop down the slip and slide and weave their way into the old rifle range.

Then its back onto Boundary Rd for the last time and onto the up and overs and then up onto the old air stripe once again. The participants will jump in the potato sacks, crawl once again through the cargo net crawl and the hay bale pyramid. Finally they will be back near the event base but they will have to go through the bouncy castle obstacle course. All obstacles are voluntary and will be supervised.

Race Start Times:

The race briefing for this event will be at 10.20am and the start time will be at 10.30am.

Dress Up:

It's always more fun getting dressed up so this year we would love to see you getting creative and coming along in a costume. Here are a few ideas to help you out:

• Create a pair of plane wings. You could use anything from old cardboard boxes or egg cartons to wire and Mum's old stockings.
  
• Come dressed as an army cadet or solider.
• Encourage Mum and Dad to dress up too. They could come as air hostesses or pilots.
• The choice is yours though, so the more creative the better.

Paint your creations bright colours so that you stand out or camouflage colours so you blend in with the surround landscape. There will be a prize for a stand out costume.

Course Information:

We will provide a map soon of the area and the proposed locations of the obstacles.

Course Safety and Event Rules:

This event may be postponed or cancelled in extreme weather conditions at the Event Managers discretion. If this occurs there will be no refunds, but you will have the option to receive a credit for the following year's Hobsonville Runway Challenge or transfer to another total sport event within 12 months (excluding the DUAL, Tussock Traverse, T42, JustWorkout Devonport Clssic and The Legend).

Parts of Hobsonville Point are open to the public so please respect their space.

Entrants must help other entrants in trouble and notify the next available course marshal.

Supporters:

If you child(ren) would like to enter the 3km Kids Adventure run you may run with them for support but please do not participate on the obstacles. This is to keep the flow of people moving at each obstacle and for the safety of the children. The course is very accessible to parents/ carers who would like to take photos and cheer the participants on from different locations around the course. Please be considerate to the people doing the event and do not obstruct the path if you are a supporter.

Prize giving:

After you've completed your event, grab a coffee from the coffee cart, lay down your blanket and enjoy watching everyone crossing the finish line. For those of you who chose to stay till prize giving we will make it worth your time with a great prize and also an award to someone in an outstanding costume who caught our eye.
